Wrongfully Accused: Seeking the Support of the ROC Community
Thursday, December 7, 2017
6:30 - 8:30pm
Flying Squirrel Community Space
285 Clarissa St.
My family and I will discuss the reasons why we believe what was supposed to be a fun night out on the town led to us being targeted, wrongfully accused and kicked out of a local bar for allegedly bringing a liquor bottle inside the establishment.
We documented most of the interaction and the video went viral, reaching close to 90K people.
On Thursday, December 7, our family will share our experience from that night and what has developed since.
Did we have a bottle and if not, why were we kicked out? Did race play a role? How has the community responded? Was this an isolated incident? Where do we go from here?
Don't be afraid to talk about racisim when you experience it! Join us for a thought-provoking discussion about minoriities recognizing discrimination and calling it out wherever it exist!
