Often the term consent is believed merely to encompass permission related to sexual activity. Though this aspect of the conversation is important and necessary, it is only one piece of the story. Consent is a highly personal ideology, influenced by lived experience and aspects of identity. Facilitators will build upon attendees’ lived experiences through discussion and interactive activities. We aim for attendees to leave with a greater understanding of consent as it relates to sexual activity as well as everyday interactions. The workshop will be presented by the Rochester’s Sexual and Reproductive Justice Task Force.

The Flying Squirrel Community Space is offering intentional programming for 2019. The months of January and February are dedicated to issues of consent and patriarchy. We are also offering one practical activist skillshare or workshop per month.
